People from across the sector and the Laverton Community Education Centre gathered at MFB’s Station 1 this week to share good food and good company at ‘A Taste of Harmony’.

More than 70 people from VICSES, CFA, City West Water, MFB, EMV and ESTA has the opportunity to spend time with people from different cultural backgrounds talking about their history and experiences, while learning to cook their food.

The delicious food on offer included spring rolls, dumplings, fried rice, Vietnamese green papaya salad, Lebanese fattoush salad, Sudanese falafels, Afghani kobba, Chinese pastry snacks, and some pavlova.

A Taste of Harmony was an opportunity to connect, share and learn more about one another. More than just cooking and food, it was about celebrating the different cultures that have shaped everyone, while recognising many similarities.
