About Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions

 

The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) promotes a strong and resilient economy that benefits all Victorians by creating more opportunities for people through jobs and skills, supporting businesses and industries to grow and prosper, and building vibrant communities and regions.

DJSIR is Victoria’s lead agency for economic recovery and business and industry engagement, with responsibilities spanning a range of portfolios, including:

  • industry and innovation,
  • manufacturing sovereignty,
  • employment,
  • trade and investment,
  • small business,
  • regional and suburban development,
  • Commonwealth Games delivery and legacy,
  • tourism,
  • sport and major events,
  • community sport,
  • outdoor recreation,
  • creative industries,
  • training and skills, and
  • higher education.

Relief Coordinating Agency (RelCA) and Relief Lead Agency (RelLA) for food and grocery supply continuity. DJSIR supports food and grocery supply continuity by providing strategic and expert advice to government and emergency agencies regarding impacts on food and grocery supply/demand and prioritisation in an emergency, working with major food distribution operators.

  • support EMV to implement available financial assistance under the DRFA to assist voluntary non-profit groups, communities and economies
