Today the responsibility for the administration of Victoria’s Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements has moved from the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) to Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) in the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

The change supports the integration of post disaster funding arrangements within our broader emergency management sector, and future work to streamline and improve current processes.

In the short-term, there will be no change to the existing arrangements, with current processes remaining the same. The team overseeing the DRFA has also not changed, with all members from DTF’s Natural Disaster Financial Assistance (NDFA) team having joined EMV.

From today, the NDFA team can be contacted via email at ndfa@emv.vic.gov.au (External link). As part of the transition, the current Natural Disaster Financial Assistance web pages have moved to www.emv.vic.gov.au/natural-disaster-financial-assistance, where all information about Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements guidelines, registered natural disaster events and key claim lodgement timelines, can be found.
