2025 Regional Environmental Scans
The 2025 Regional Environmental Scans are now available. The scans were last published in 2020.
Victoria has 8 emergency management regions. The scans provide the regions with data and information that is:
- consistent
- accurate
- region specific.
The scans match the heading structure from the State Emergency Management Plan (SEMP). The information covers the 4 environments listed in the SEMP:
- Natural Environment
- Built Environment
- Social Environment
- Economic Environment.
Each scan also includes a regional overview and a section on lessons management. These sections capture key learnings from 2021–24.
The scans use official and publicly available information. The information aims to:
- support the review of the Regional Emergency Management Plans (REMPs)
- inform the Regional Emergency Risk Assessments (RERAs)
- enhance the development of exercises across municipal, regional, and state levels
- assist Regional Emergency Management Planning Committees (REMPCs) in their planning activities.
