Safer and more resilient communities

Victoria’s drier than average conditions are expected to continue into autumn. This follows below average rainfall across much of the west and central areas of Victoria, and in parts of south and west Gippsland, according to the Australian Seasonal Bushfire Outlook for Autumn, released today.

The Volunteer Workforce and Culture Steering Committee was established to bring together three of Victoria’s emergency services organisations with a strong volunteer workforce - Country Fire Authority, Life Saving Victoria and the Victoria State Emergency Service.

Today marks 40 years since the Ash Wednesday bushfires. We reflect and remember those lost, and others who continue to be affected.
