The State Road Crash Rescue Arrangements Victoria 2017, are the current doctrine governing road crash rescue services in Victoria. These arrangements are currently under review and will be updated once the review is complete.
Victoria is served by a network of 135 road crash rescue principal providers from the FRV, CFA and VICSES. There are also two independent providers at Echuca and Shepparton.
Despite improvements to vehicle and road safety standards there have been few changes to the road crash rescue arrangements since they were first developed more than 20 years ago.
The objectives of these reviewed arrangements are to ensure an effective, sound and sustainable Road Crash Rescue (RCR) system across Victoria, delivering the best possible care to, and safe extrication of, persons involved in road crashes.
