Victoria’s recent wettest October on record, coupled with reduced fuel loads following the 2019-20 bushfire season and the continued wet outlook is contributing to the forecast of below normal fire potential for eastern parts of the state this summer, according to the Australian Seasonal Bushfire Outlook for Summer, released today.

Victoria’s volunteer emergency services will benefit from $14 million in grants following the announcement of the 2022-23 Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP) grants.
