Victorian project wins National Resilient Australia Award

8 November 2018

A Victorian project has been recognised at the National Resilient Australia Awards ceremony in Brisbane today.

Congratulations to Dixons Creek Primary School who has won the 2018 Resilient Australia National Schools Award for their Firestick Project.

Dixons Creek was significantly impacted during the 2009 bushfires. The Firestick project is a partnership between the community, school and local Wurundjeri people to better understand indigenous land management methods, good and bad fire impacts, and how the community and land can heal through the use of traditional indigenous burning methods.
