Victoria is sending 36 personnel to Queensland to assist local incident managers in managing devastating fires.
Victorians will be deployed to Kendron, Boonah Airfield, Canungra, Rockhampton and Toowoomba.
The Victorian contingent includes personnel from MFB, VicSES, Forest Fire Management Victoria including Parks Victoria and CFA.
Deputy Emergency Management Commissioner Deb Abbott said Victoria was pleased to support our interstate colleagues and work alongside Queensland teams to keep the community safe.
“These personnel will provide much needed support to Queensland, assisting in managing a number of significant fires,” she said.
“There have been properties lost and communities under threat. Our thoughts are with those impacted.
“This deployment will provide our already skilled personnel with valuable experience that they can bring home and share with their colleagues.”
