Panel for post-emergency state coordinated clean-up

The Victorian Government has finalised the panel of suppliers to undertake management and delivery of clean-up services following a major emergency. This marks a significant step in providing faster access to post-emergency clean- up services, with experienced and capable operators best able to deal with the complexities and sensitivities involved in working with disaster affected communities.

Establishing a panel of suppliers with appropriate capability and capacity will mean a timely response after a significant incident that requires a State coordinated clean-up. It will also allow the State Government to access contractors with a diverse range of capabilities following a disaster, based on the specific clean-up needs of affected communities.

Clean-up and disposal of debris and waste is a key priority of recovery following any natural disaster. This includes damaged buildings, green waste, building material, household and other types of hazardous waste.

Following the completion of clean-up of the 2015 Christmas Day bushfires of Wye River and Separation Creek, Emergency Management Victoria approached the market to establish a panel of suppliers. Following a competitive procurement process, Grocon Pty Ltd and Johns Lyng Group have been appointed to the panel.

Emergency Management Victoria welcomes further expressions of interest from providers with the capability and capacity required to manage the delivery of large-scale clean-up services.
