MSAR hosts regional forums

MSAR Regional Forum 2016

3 April, 2017

The Marine Search and Rescue (MSAR) sector will come together again in May for a round of Regional Forums to be held in three locations across Victoria.

The forums, in Port Melbourne, Colac and Traralgon, are organised by Emergency Management Victoria and provide a great opportunity to connect, share ideas and discuss issues.

It is also a chance for the sector to reflect on recent changes, achievements and progress made over the past year, as well as the next steps on the reform agenda.

The MSAR sector has shown how it can come together to initiate change and implement positive reform and this is to be commended. We encourage everyone to attend one of the forums and invite others to get involved.

Regional Forum topics for 2017 include:

  • Review of progress made to date, including updates on all reform projects
  • Discussion about the year ahead
  • Review of the recent boating season in terms of incidents and MSAR responses
  • Identification and discussion of any current or emerging issues in the sector

You can review the issues discussed at the 2016 forums by downloading the Introduction (External link)(PDF) and Regional Forums (External link)(PDF) presentations.
