EMV in conjunction with the State Review Team launched its EM-SHARE platform last week, an initiative that means learnings can be shared across Victoria's emergency management sector.
EM-SHARE will supersede the Observation Sharing Centre and provide the ability for users to track how their observations are being utilised and contributing to continuous improvement of the sector.
In a first for the Victorian sector, the multiagency lessons management platform has been designed to support the analysis and identification of trends based on the national model of observations, insights and lessons. It will also provide the opportunity for individual agencies to analyse data to assist in their specific learning environment.
Importantly the lessons management system provides an evidence base to support decision making, project/programs and capability development.
The platform is an inclusive tool that will also provide access to lessons management resources and products for all emergency management personnel.
The system will be put to the test this summer, providing a platform for capturing, analysing and sharing lessons arising from incidents, training, testing and exercising, and corporate business. Members of the community, business, industry, and government, including volunteers, have the ability use EM-Share to support the learning and improvement of our sector.
