Victorians have been given more time to get their entries in for the Resilient Australia Awards 2020.

If you have contributed to making communities safer, more connected and better prepared for disasters and emergencies, consider making a submission to the awards.

Individuals, communities and organisations with an initiative, partnership or photograph that shows community resilience in action are encouraged to make a submission.

The awards are open to all Victorian individuals and organisations, including emergency service personnel and agencies, not-for-profit organisations, large and small businesses, local and state government, schools, education institutions and research bodies.

In the first stage of judging, Victorian finalists will be awarded in six categories:

  • business
  • community
  • government
  • local government
  • schools
  • photography.

You can enter by visiting the Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience website (External link)

Entries close at 11.59pm AEST on Tuesday 16 June.

Applications will be judged at the state and territory level, and the winners will become finalists for the national judging.
